Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce set for spectacular three-day wedding celebrations

Global pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce are reportedly preparing to tie the knot in a lavish three-day wedding celebration centered around the iconic Madison Square Garden, with festivities expected to draw hundreds of guests and capture worldwide attention.

According to reports, the couple will begin their wedding celebrations with an intimate ceremony near the famed New York venue on July 2, attended by around 100 close friends and family members. The celebrations are then expected to expand into a star-studded gathering, with nearly 1,000 guests anticipated to attend a major reception the following day.

A city official told local media that preparations were underway at the 22,000-seat arena, while sources claimed permits had been sought to close streets surrounding Madison Square Garden ahead of the festivities, which coincide with celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence.

New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the city faces an unusually busy summer calendar and acknowledged reports surrounding the high-profile wedding.

“Any one of those on their own would be a big deal in New York City. All of them taken together are unprecedented and are going to place unusual, and I would say historic, demands on the New York City Police Department,” she said.

Meanwhile, New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani expressed confidence in the city's ability to host major events and welcomed visitors expected to arrive for the celebrations.

“We’re excited to welcome the world here,” the mayor said, adding that New York “feels like a city that is coming to life.”

Madison Square Garden, best known as the home arena of the NBA champion New York Knicks and for hosting major boxing events and concerts, is expected to become the centerpiece of one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year.

When asked about the couple's wedding, Mayor Mamdani offered his congratulations, saying, “I wish them a lovely wedding,” while joking that although he had not received an invitation, he would celebrate by listening to Swift’s song Only the Young at home.

If confirmed, the wedding is expected to be one of the largest celebrity events ever staged at Madison Square Garden, adding another chapter to the venue’s storied history.
