Petrol price raised by Rs2.02, diesel cut by Rs3.59 per litre

The federal government has increased the price of petrol by Rs2.02 per litre while reducing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs3.59 per litre for the period from Sept. 26 to Sept. 28, according to a Petroleum Division notification issued on Friday.

The price of petrol, or motor spirit, has been increased from Rs389.28 to Rs391.30 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel has been reduced from Rs412.12 to Rs408.53 per litre.

The revised ex-depot prices will take effect from Sept. 26 and remain applicable until Sept. 28.

The Petroleum Division said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised the prices under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

It said the changes were necessitated by global developments, including movements in Platts rates, premiums and other incidentals.
