Punjab IG summoned by LHC over unusually small FIR font

The Lahore High Court has summoned Punjab Inspector General Abdul Kareem in his personal capacity on September 24 after expressing displeasure that the police presented an FIR in unusually small font, 24NewsHD TV reported.

Chief Justice Aalia Neelum issued the written order, directing the relevant law officer to ensure the Punjab IG’s appearance before the court.

According to the written order, police presented the FIR in a 2021 case in extremely small font, making it difficult for the court to read.

During the hearing, SP Saddar Division Muhammad Abdullah also failed to satisfy the court regarding the presentation of the FIR.

The case relates to a contempt petition filed by Mian Muhammad Jameel in 2021 against the SHO Chung. SP Saddar Division Muhammad Abdullah had appeared before the court in connection with the case.
