Anika Zulfiqar takes sharp dig at Nadia Khan’s questions to Parisheh Adnan
Rising Pakistani actress Anika Zulfiqar has called out the line of questioning directed at fashion designer Parisheh Adnan during a latest appearance on Nadia Khan’s show, describing the exchange as outdated, judgmental and far removed from the kind of meaningful conversation she believes the designer could offer.
A viral video from the show has been making the rounds on social media, featuring Nadia Khan and her co-hosts questioning Parisheh about her fashion choices and gym videos. During the conversation, she was specifically asked how her parents allowed her to dress the way she does in her workout-related videos.
Reacting to the clip, Anika took to her Instagram Stories and criticised the question, suggesting that the interview could have explored far more insightful aspects of Parisheh’s work and personality.
Sharing her thoughts, she wrote: ‘Papa ko kaise convince kiya?’ Wrong girl LOL. Maybe do some research on your guests before the show?”
Anika went on to highlight Parisheh’s experience and the wealth of perspectives she could have brought to the discussion.
“Parishae has so much inspiration and insight to offer on so many topics, and here you are asking basic judgy aunty questions,” she wrote.
The actress further took aim at what she described as an outdated approach to hosting, adding, “Shayad humare hosts ko gharelu morning shows ki aadat hai to iss se agay in ki soch jati hi nahi hai.”
Anika then suggested that show hosts should focus on their strengths while also acknowledging the changing media landscape.
“I'd suggest sticking to what you're good at, but dunya agay barh chuki hai, aur aap waheen ke waheen, sad!” she concluded.
Her remarks have since added another layer to the online conversation surrounding the viral interview, with the exchange prompting debate over the kind of questions Pakistani celebrities and public figures are asked during television appearances.
