LHC puts off hearing of Imran Khan's sister Aleema’s detention case till Friday

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the petition filed against the detention of Aleema Khan, the sister of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, and her driver until September 25, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The petitioner’s counsel will give more arguments in favour of the admissibility of the petition. 

Shehrez Khan had moved the LHC against the detention of Aleema and her driver Muhammad Ameer. 

PTI had said on Sunday that Aleema Khan had been detained by authorities, after the office of Lahore’s deputy commissioner (DC) ordered her detention or arrest for 30 days.

The development takes place amid reports of a crackdown on the PTI ahead of its September 27 countrywide protest and march to Islamabad, which the party has called to demand Imran’s release from jail and mobilise people for the supremacy of the constitution.
