Section 144 imposed in Hyderabad, ban on gatherings

Section 144 has been imposed across Hyderabad district and banned gatherings of five or more people from September 25 to 29, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

According to the notification issued by Commissioner Hyderabad Division Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, the decision was taken on the recommendations of the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police Hyderabad due to reports of possible attacks on public gatherings.

The notification cited the prevailing security situation, recent terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and ongoing operations against illegal immigrants as reasons for the restrictions.

Police officials not below the rank of Inspector have been authorized to take action against violators.

Cases will be registered under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code for violations of Section 144.
