Govt to introduce reforms in PIMS

The federal government has decided to introduce major reforms in the administration, clinical, and services sectors of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Sources said that after directives from the Prime Minister, a transformation plan has also been finalized for the PIMS Hospital, Islamabad.

The PIMS Transformation Plan is finalized with the support of health experts, and implementation of this plan will begin soon.

Sources said that a period of three months was given to the PIMS administration to fully implement the reform plan.

Two separate committees of experts have been formed for the implementation of PIMS reforms. The basic purpose of these reforms is to ensure patient safety in case of an emergency.

The medical superintendent and deputy medical superintendent are responsible for implementation of these reforms.

The process of service delivery and intensive care will be streamlined, and a comprehensive safety plan will be introduced in case of an emergency.

A digital plan will be introduced for the patients and the administration of PIMS. The administrative structure will be finalized in light of the recommendation of the special committee.
