Khawaja Asif refuses to rule out possibility of governor’s rule in KP

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the option of imposing governor’s rule has always been in the constitution, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters in New York, he said there was little room to trust the PTI. He also said that PTI leaders were turning themselves into police. 

Referring to the PTI’s planned long march on Islamabad, he called it the party’s “last attempt” to reach the federal capital in this fashion.

He said PTI would not have another chance to organize a similar push toward the federal capital.

Calling the present leadership sagacious, the minister claimed that it had enhanced the country’s prestige in the world by acting as a mediator in world disputes.  

Asif said that India was Afghanistan’s biggest collaborator and partner. “There is no room for improvement in Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan even in distant future,” he prophesied. 

He said that Pakistan would stand by Saudi Arabia if there was any aggression against it. He alluded to the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement in this regard.

The minister said Pakistan is continuing its efforts for peace in the Middle East. He said Qatar is also playing its role in this regard.

He emphasized that Pakistan's image has improved significantly in the world as a result of its mediation.
