Rs250m gold smuggling attempt foiled in Balochistan

Pakistan Customs Enforcement Quetta has foiled a major attempt to smuggle gold through the border areas of Balochistan, recovering 6.16 kg of gold worth around Rs250 million, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday. 

According to a press statement, the operation was carried out on September 21, 2026, by personnel of the Field Enforcement Unit (FEU) Shila Bagh with the active support of the Frontier Corps.

The operation was launched on the basis of secret information and effective surveillance in the area.

During the action, customs officials recovered gold bars believed to have been intended for smuggling.

The confiscated gold has been deposited at the State Warehouse in Quetta in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure.

An FIR has been registered, and further legal proceedings are under way.
