Customs foils bid to smuggle 35kg hashish through Islamabad airport

Pakistan Customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle 35 kilograms of hashish through Islamabad International Airport,  24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday. 

According to officials, Pakistan Customs officials searched at the airport and recovered the suspected narcotics from the luggage of a passenger arriving on flight TG-349.

According to Pakistan Customs, the seized hashish has an estimated value of Rs660 million.

The prohibited substance was taken into customs custody, while an FIR was registered against the passenger under the relevant legal provisions.

Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the narcotics and their intended destination, Pakistan Customs said.
