Thailand thrash Pakistan 4-0 in FIFA ASEAN cup opener

Pakistan suffered a 4-0 defeat to Thailand in their opening match of the FIFA ASEAN Cup, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

Thailand’s Teerasak Poeiphimai scored a hat-trick against Pakistan, while Jude Soonsup-Bell scored Thailand’s fourth goal.

Pakistan produced a solid defensive display during the opening 30 minutes, with goalkeeper Yousuf Butt making several impressive saves to keep Thailand’s attacks at bay.

Pakistan showed a more attacking approach in the second half but failed to convert their chances into goals.

Pakistan are 105 places below Thailand in the FIFA world rankings.

Pakistan will play their next FIFA ASEAN Cup match against the Philippines on Tuesday.
